Matisse :

Paper cut-out animation realized with Sam Delpeux representing a possible promotional animation for the exhibition Jazz by Henri Matisse that took place at the Centre Pompidou from May 17 to April 20, 2019.

The animation brings to life the painting The Nightmare of the White Elephant (1947) by Henri Matisse.

For this animation, we wanted to respect the title of the painting and show the nightmare that this elephant is living and therefore the oppressive side that emerges from Matisse's painting, while keeping a suitable for all audiences aspect that can characterize the circus universe. We wanted the animation to make children and adults want to visit the exhibition.
